This study lasted 8 weeks, and there were around 32 participants – postmenopausal women. They were divided into 3 groups – curcumin, a non-treatment group, and exercise. The women in the curcumin group got 150 mg of turmeric extract on a daily basis for 8 weeks.

Their exercise and diet habits were the same during this study period. The women in the exercise group had aerobic exercise training. In fact, they had one home-based training and 3 supervised sessions.
These women had from 30 to 60 minutes long sessions. In intensity, the range was from 60 percent of their individually maximal heart rate in the first phase of the trial all the way to 70-75 percent in the second half.

At the end of the study, there was significant improvement in both exercise and curcumin groups. This is in comparison to the control group
